A Vibrant Activities Programme for Residents

At Boclair Care Home, presenting residents with opportunities to continue doing the things they love, as well as trying new things and meeting new people is incredibly important to us. We see great value in our residents keeping physically and mentally active, learning new skills, and ultimately enjoying themselves.

That's why we have an incredible team of activities coordinators who go above and beyond to bring residents an activities programme that is packed with a variety of activities, events, and excursions, all thoughtfully put together to meet the interests and needs of our residents.

For instance, one of our residents, Bert, is a great golf player and has always enjoyed the sport. His family thought he would never be able to play golf, however, we set up a putting green which has enabled him to continue with his hobby and it is clear that he has not lost his skill.

We have also recently introduced a new activity to our programme; Lingo Flamingo. We have signed up for a block of 12 sessions which take place on Monday afternoons. These sessions are hosted by Charles, who teaches the residents Italian.

So far, the sessions have been very popular and are well-attended. The sessions involve a great deal of reminiscing, gathering phrases and comments (in English) about topics such as family events and memories. It has been fantastic for all involved to learn this new skill, socialise with one another, and get to know more about one another in the process.

We look forward to introducing more fun activities to our residents in the coming months. If you would like to find out more about life at Boclair Care Home and how we can support you and your family then we welcome you to get in touch.
