World Cup Fever with Boclair’s Own Tartan Army

As football fever swept the country this summer, it definitely reached Boclair and the residents here in Bearsden, Glasgow! We were delighted to feel the national pride from our residents and staff while watching the matches, showing our support for Scotland with hats, flags, shirts and decorations across our modern facility.

Throughout the tournament, residents joined together to celebrate every moment with the fantastic sense of community that comes alive during the World Cup. Our motto - #NoBoclairNoParty - reflected the sportsmanship of our residents as we enjoyed keeping up with the scores. Although Scotland didn’t make it as far as we’d hoped, it was still a wonderful activity that brought everyone together.

We also enjoyed a sunny day of trying our own football skills when Fit-Baw came to visit. Setting up a goal in the landscaped garden, residents were able to take shots and make up our very own Tartan Army. This was a fun experience for all, sitting in the sunshine and taking part in some light physical activity.

Our World Cup celebrations opened a great opportunity for the people of Boclair to come together as a community, support our country, and stay active while encouraging one another. The excitement of watching the national team spread throughout our home, as evident by the smiles on the faces of the residents. Combining fun, inclusive social events with good physical wellbeing is a vital part of our activity programme at Boclair.
