Live Concerts Bring Musical Joy to Boclair

As part of Boclair Care Home’s varied activities programme, we host a range of live music concerts to boost residents wellbeing and bring joy to our lively home. Recently, we had the absolute joy of welcoming resident Jennifer’s grandson and his partner to perform for us! Residents, visitors and staff were wowed by their spectacular performance, showcasing their incredible vocal skills from their training at the Royal Conservatoire.

We were all blown away by their beautiful voices, and Jennifer was especially proud of her talented family. Here at Boclair, we encourage friends and family of residents to visit our welcoming care home as much as possible. Maintaining and nurturing these meaningful relationships provides a warm sense of belonging and trust that can boost residents confidence, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

We have also been fortunate enough to welcome a variety of other entertainers into our home, each bringing their own special touch of fun and nostalgia. Some of our favourite moments have been singing along to our favourite songs, sparking fond memories and providing the opportunity for reminiscence, which is particularly beneficial for our residents living with dementia. These performances encouraged laughter and created a wonderful atmosphere for our residents to enjoy together. 

Live musical performances offers benefits that go far beyond simple entertainment. The shared experience encourages social interaction, bringing residents together and reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Residents can’t help but tap their feet and dance to the livelier tunes, which is brilliant for physical health, balance and coordination. The music lifts moods, reduces anxiety, and creates a warm, lively atmosphere within Boclair Care Home, while also providing gentle mental and sensory stimulation that supports overall wellbeing and quality of life.
