Landscaped Garden

Our landscaped garden is a spacious outside area that all of our residents have access to use in their own way. We have opportunities for our green-fingered residents or people that like to admire nature’s beautiful aspects. We also have a pathway for those that enjoy a little stroll either alone, with a friend, or with a loved one. The garden can be an area for dining in the warmer months, relaxation, socialising and so much more.

Having the space outside for residents to utilise is important to us at Boclair Care Home. There are so many benefits of getting some fresh air that will impact residents’ wellbeing in the short and the long term. During the warmer months, we will also make use of the garden with the entirety of Boclair for events or special occasions.

Our Outdoor Facilities

At Boclair Care Home, our beautiful gardens are fully accessible all year round, designed with residents of all mobility levels in mind. The space is completely enclosed for peace of mind, with various benches and shaded rest areas so residents can enjoy the fresh air in comfort – no matter the weather. We’ve even added raised garden beds to make planting and gardening more enjoyable for everyone.

Our gardens are filled with a variety of plants chosen by our residents themselves, including plenty of fragrant lavender that surrounds the home. Residents are welcome to take part in our gardening club, where they can grow their own plants and get involved in choosing what blooms in our outdoor spaces. Whether it’s for dining, gardening, or simply sitting back with a good book, our gardens are here to be enjoyed as though they were your own.

Summer Events

We love to make the most of the outdoors whenever possible, and if the weather is on our side, you’ll find most of our activities taking place outside. From silent discos and friendly games of football to creative arts and crafts sessions, there’s always something going on in the fresh air. Our balcony area is also a favourite spot for smaller group activities and enjoying a bit of sunshine.

Summer is when our gardens really come to life, with barbecues, fayres, and community events bringing everyone together. Family and friends are always encouraged to join in – it’s a wonderful way to spend time together, create memories, and enjoy the many benefits of being outdoors.

We hold the belief that offering our residents the opportunity to spend time outside, get some fresh air, participate in outdoor activities, and connect with nature is crucial for their overall well-being. Spending time outdoors has numerous mental and physical benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing mood, improving cardiovascular health, and boosting balance and muscle strength.

We offer a range of outdoor activities including walking, gardening and lawn games, and when the weather permits, residents can dine al fresco and enjoy live entertainment.

To ensure that our gardens are accessible to everyone, we have incorporated pathways and provided outdoor seating. Our private garden is designed with safety in mind, featuring fencing and gates to prevent residents from going beyond the boundaries. The paths are well-maintained, and we have outdoor lighting and other safety measures in place to minimise the risk of falls.
